Some simple behavioral interventions for ADHD patients
Children with ADHD may need help getting organized. That is:
- Timeline: scheduled regularly every day from waking until bedtime. The timeline includes time doing homework, playing time (including outdoor playtime, indoor activities such as electronic games). Paste the timeline on the refrigerator or bulletin board in the kitchen. If you have to change the timeline, make it more progressive as possible.
- Arrange child objects in need every day: there’s a place for everything and keep everything in place of it includes clothing, backpacks, school supplies.
- Do your homework and use notebooks: emphasizing the importance of writing out required in class and take home the books needed.
Children with ADHD need consistent rules that they can understand and follow. If the above rules are complied with, give them a small reward. Children with ADHD often receive, expecting, for advice. Looking for good behavior and praise them.
The new research on ADHD disease
Some understanding of brain structure is useful, in order to understand the scientific research is being conducted to find out the basis of ADHD disease entity. The brain research attention is the frontal lobe of the brain. The frontal lobes help us to act to solve the problem, the next plan, to understand the behavior of others and restrain impulses. The two left and right frontal lobe in contact with each other through the nerve fibers (as the nerve fibers connecting the frontal lobes on either).
The lymph nodes in the background is the combined gray matter located deep in the cerebral hemispheres and is the connection between the brain and the cerebellum and the cerebellum was active coordination agency. The cerebellum split into 3 parts, the middle part is Vernis.
All the areas of the brain have been studied by brain imaging methods. These methods include: functional magnetic resonance imaging (FMRI), positron emission tomography (PET), single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT). The psychological damage of ADHD has been connected with the research. Until 2002, the researchers specialized in pediatric psychiatric – mental health Institute in the United States have conducted on 152 boys and girls with ADHD, there are confronting a group of 139 older equivalent of gender and age do not have ADHD. The older brain was taken at least twice, up to 4 times in the past 10 years. The group with ADHD has a brain volume of less than 3-4% in comparison with the evidence on all the brain research: the frontal lobe, temporal lobe gray matter, the tail and the cerebellum. The study also showed that children with ADHD are treatable with medication has no white matter volume differences compared to group documents. The untreated children have unusual white matter volume reduction. White matter contains nerve fibers connecting cerebral regions distant from each other. This thick strands should be when the brain develops and grows. Although MRI is used to track changes in the brain but the researchers stressed that it is the measurement tools in research rather than tools for ADHD diagnosis for each child. The same is true with other neurology tests such as PET and SPECT.
